Bangladesh quickly Nahid Rana is set to return to PSL 2026 after the BCB granted him the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to play again in the tournament despite pulling out last week.
The BCB initially granted Nahid the NOC to play in the PSL only till April 13, after which he pulled out of the tournament to manage his workload. But he will now return to represent his side Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL final on May 3 even after being rested for the first two T20Is of Bangladesh’s ongoing home series against New Zealand.

“This decision was taken considering the importance of participating in the final of a major global franchise competition, which is considered an important step in the continued development of the player,” the BCB said in a statement. “More importantly, the team management and BCB medical team have provided clearance, confirming that their participation in the match will not adversely affect their fitness, workload management or availability for national duty.”

Zalmi owner Javed Afridi thanked BCB president Tamim Iqbal on Wednesday for allowing Nahid into the PSL.

Nahid has been in stellar form recently. In the four matches he played for Zalmi before leaving for Bangladesh duty, he took seven wickets at an impressive average of 10.85 and an economy rate of 5.42. It included pockets 3 for 7 against Karachi Kingswho were bowled out for 87 after Zalmi scored 246. Nahid followed this up by taking 5 for 32 for Bangladesh in the second ODI against New Zealandbefore finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the series with eight wickets at an average of 16.75.

The BCB originally rested Nahid for six days. That break would be over on Wednesday, after which he would begin training for Bangladesh’s Test series against Pakistan, which begins on May 8 in Dhaka. However, despite the PSL final being scheduled just five days before the first Test against Pakistan, the BCB confirmed that Nahid “remains on track to be available” for the Test match.
