The next big screen adventure of the turtle brothers Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo will be released in theaters a little sooner than previously scheduled.

The new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie, “Mutant Mayhem 2,” is scheduled to be released on August 13, 2027, a month ahead of the announced September 17 release date.

“Mutant Mayhem 2” is directed by Jeff Rowe and co-directed by Kyler Spears and Yashar Kassai. Rowe and Spears worked on the first film with producers and writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who also return. The producing team includes Point Grey’s James Weaver, Josh Fagen and Ramsay McBean, with Lukas Williams serving as executive producer.

The “TMNT” brand has been a major priority for Paramount in recent years, with increased focus on the beloved, cross-generational IP under new Skydance leadership. The first ‘Mutant Mayhem’ film was released in August 2023 and grossed $181 million worldwide. But Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies are already so optimistic about a new spin on the 40-year-old franchise that they’ve launched it.
