Glenn Powell asked to voice Fox McCloud in ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’

So when I heard about this proposal, I started lobbying here at Nintendo, getting the necessary parties involved. I was amazed at how many people saw a lot of potential for this, and I was very excited to see what would come from this.”

Powell’s phone call pitch for the voice of Fox McCloud arrived around the same time, which seemed fateful for Meledandri. This character is the main character of the video game ‘Star Fox’ and one of the original characters of Nintendo’s fighting game ‘Super Smash Bros.’

“The other actor I called after seeing the first movie was Donald Glover, and he said, ‘You need to be involved in a Nintendo movie in some way.’” Meledandri continued: “We loved him as an actor, as a creator, and as a filmmaker, so he came in, we sat down, and he said, ‘I’m going to do the most amazing thing.’ yoshi.’ So it was really interesting that these two casting ideas came from the actors themselves.”
