The government intervened.
TXTsay soon went viral after he revealed that he was scammed by a taxi driver during his trip to the Philippines.
In a recent vlog of his vacation uploaded on the group’s official YouTube channel, Soobin traveled to Cebu with a friend for a vacation. After arriving at the airport, Soobin checked that the fare to his accommodation should be around 300 pesos. However, things quickly took a turn.
A taxi driver initially quoted 500 pesos, and despite failed negotiations, Soobin got into the taxi. During the ride, the driver continued to raise the price, eventually demanding 1000 pesos, claiming it was due to high fuel costs.
Soobin really crashed in the car because the driver tried to cheat them and asked too much for the price they agreed to, but he was firm and strict about it. he even said NOT to edit this part 😭😭😭 I’m glad he shares awareness and tips about taxi advice thanks soobin pic.twitter.com/73CTaPOPnB

In the end, he firmly refused to pay the inflated amount and paid 500 pesos before leaving the taxi. After the release of the video, the issue even gained attention in the Philippines. The Land Transport Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced that the driver in question would face a 30-day preventive suspension.
