‘Shana’ Movie: Trailer for Cannes Director’s Week 2026

When her grandmother dies, Shanna inherits a ring that is said to protect her from bad luck. And wow, does she need it! This is the setup for: ShanaA French comedy-drama directed by Lila Pinel. Moving week (Quinzaine des cinéastes) 2026 Program cannes film festival. Director Lee’s second feature and first feature as a solo director is an adaptation of a short film. Le Roy DavidShe wrote and directed it.

Eva Huault, who also stars, plays the lead role. Le Roy DavidAnd Noémie Lvovsky’s film takes the audience into the environment around the protagonist. “Her characters move like a ring from one story, world, situation to the next,” Pinell emphasizes in his directorial remarks. “In that respect, she is a great narrative engine. Shana sets everything around her in motion and prevents that world from closing in on itself. She gets her foot in the door and knocks down the fence. She is herself a principle of movement.”

She says about Shanna: “She has a desire for liberation, but she can’t really put her finger on it. It leads her into confrontational situations and conflicts where nothing seems to be resolved.”
