Four UP policemen, one civilian killed in SUV accident on KMP Expressway in Haryana’s Nuh

Four Uttar Pradesh policemen and one civilian were killed on Tuesday morning after their SUV lost control and rammed into another vehicle on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) highway. Haryana‘s Nuh district, police said.

According to preliminary investigation, the personnel, posted in UP’s Jalaun district, traveled to Palwal in a Mahindra Scorpion. The accident occurred around 10:30 am when the driver lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle, causing the SUV to crash into a heavy vehicle ahead.

Police He said the impact was so severe that it killed all five on the spot. Local police and highway patrol teams rushed to the scene upon receiving information and began rescue and investigation efforts.

The bodies were recovered from the wrecked vehicle and sent for post-mortem examination. Officials said initial findings point to speed as the primary cause of the crash, although further investigation is underway to rule out other factors such as driver fatigue or mechanical failure.

Rescue teams have recovered the ID card of Sub-Inspector Mohit Kumar Yadav from the accident site and are working to identify the remaining victims.

Tauru Sadar SHO Shish Ram Yadav said the bodies have been sent for postmortem and further investigation is underway.

“Crews are working to clear the debris from the accident and restore traffic. The Jalaun Superintendent of Police has been informed of the accident,” said Yadav.
