“It’s not funny…”
bts dropped new merchandise alongside their fifth studio album, Arirangmarking their long-awaited return.

One item in particular – a green light stick bag – unexpectedly attracted attention, but not for good reason.
BTS’ upcoming album “ARIRANG” merchandise sparks huge controversy
The bag features the phrase “It’s not a bomb“, which some fans warn can be risky in real life. Airports and security checkpoints are strict about anything even hinting at explosives. Carrying a bag with that message can lead to delays, questioning or worse, depending on the country.
ARMYs go through TSA every tour season: It’s a light stick. It is a light stick. It is a light stick.

Carrying a bag that says “this ain’t a bomb” in the good old US OF A would be crazy 🤣
You couldn’t wear it in the airport. pic.twitter.com/IlFMw7XPeA

Similar venues would include concert venues, rendering the piece of merchandise unusable.
literally anyone wearing it everywhere is a bad idea, I’m trying to think of ONEEEEE scenario where it works 😭😭😭 https://t.co/nFaoI2t225

While many consider the bag a funny design, some even call it careless and thoughtless. ARMYs have stressed that the bag is simply not practical or safe to use, and others have called it insensitive.
really what is wrong with people who designed it
I don’t see anything funny about itdownplaying the problems and once again forcing the fandom to buy stuff they won’t be able to wear anywhere anyway
and if it will be sold out, then you are also a problem. https://t.co/lmzwaZRHYU— invisible unicorn¹³ ☽̶☾ – see louis tomlinson (@pajafixon) March 30, 2026
I still don’t understand who told them it was a good idea https://t.co/oD8B2ARxF3
