However, a popular idol’s bare face recently led to surprising criticism.

NCT’s newest subunit, NCT JNJMrecently debuted “Both Sides,” promoting the release.

As part of the promotions, member Jaemin appeared on makeup artist Risabae’s YouTube channel, where he received a makeover from her. Known for his visuals, Jaemin is usually seen with more “simple” looks, enhancing his already good looks (and accentuating his well-moisturized lips).

Risabae has a more intense style that attracts his idols, as seen with TXT Soobin’s transformation.

The video begins with Jaemin’s bare face as the two discuss what kind of makeup he will be given.

Upon completion, Jaemin’s new look is revealed, showing a look with a heavier eye and eyeliner on his lower eyelid.

The visual differences between the two looks were discussed in a viral forum post, where netizens weighed in. Many praised Jaemin for his looks, especially bare faces, but were critical of Risabae’s styling and application.
