“It wouldn’t be the end of the world,” she said.

In her latest interview triplesay Park Sohyun Surprising fans by admitting that she still wants to take on part-time jobs, she reveals how her past work experiences have shaped her perspective as an idol and as a person.

Besides her full-fledged K-Pop idol image and her strong academic background, Park Sohyun also has an impressive resume of part-time jobs – more than seven in total – including working at cafes, family restaurants and even handing out perfume testers. She says those experiences have helped her a lot in her career and in life.
I’m not very social by nature, and I’m not the type to approach people warmly. But doing part-time work broadened my empathy.
– Park Sohyun
These experiences nurtured Park Sohyun not only as a singer, but also as a person. She learned not to be consumed by any one path, and realized that even if she did something else, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. She even said she would still like to work part-time if circumstances allow.
It was stressful at the time, but I like to try new things. When I’m bored, I even look at job postings. I think, ‘At least you need these skills,’ or ‘People earn this much for this kind of work.’
– Park Sohyun
While many idols leave their pre-debut lives behind, Park Sohyun remains grateful for the lessons her part-time job has taught her. As tripleS continues to expand her global presence, her grounded mindset and long-term perspective indicate that she is determined to grow not only as an idol, but as a person, without ever losing sight of where she started.
